Dr. Louise Mahler - The Mahler Method
JACK Personal Development Mini Series
Rarely does one find a powerhouse of academic insight, observational excellence and dynamic delivery to shed new light on a topic that’s critical to us all.
Louise’s inimitable style and deep insight in her field are shared in keynotes and coaching internationally, where high-stake leadership beckons.
A foremost expert in body language, voice and emotion, Louise has a PhD in Business, and degrees and masters in Organisational Psychology as well as Music.
Her skills as a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming pull together her academic study and years of professional performance on the European opera stage to put her in a league of her own.
In the process of completing her award-winning PhD, Louise observed a ‘missing ingredient’ in corporate leadership around the unsung wisdom of the mind-body-voice connection she calls Vocal Intelligence. These blended skills bring powerful observation that elicits discernible, positive change and together with an understanding of the psychology behind high-stake engagements and the structures for handling emotion, combine to build the Mahler Method.
The Mahler Method teaches you the vital techniques to ‘be heard’ in hostile environments.
Dr Louise Mahler has been there, done that. She’s done a PhD in Business Studies, a Master’s in Organisational Psychology, a degree in Music, is a Master Practitioner in Neurolinguistic Programming and has a Bachelor of Economics.
She views the diverse foundation she’s accumulated as one which has shaped her way of thinking and perceiving. What we do in our mind, our body and how this manifests in our day to day lives. She’s learnt about why we do what we do, and she is passionate about sharing the what behind that why.
The Mahler Method
On the back of her experience and expertise, Dr Mahler developed her own method, known as the Mahler Method. It focuses on the skills we have and the structures we need in order to survive and thrive.
Specifically, it looks at our breath, body languages and gestures when dealing with stressful or pressurised situations. In our personal and professional lives, often we have a lack of definition about our response to the stimuli we face. In facing this challenge, the Mahler Method allows us to recognise the habitual routines and personal patterns that work best for our unique attributes.
Theory to Practice
It is a particularly critical aspect of our lives because in this day and age as we’re always on show - everywhere is a performance. What goes in our mind translates to the body and is expressed our voices, and thus we need to work out why we’re doing it and how to change it.
The Mahler Method is applicable for anyone, anywhere. There’s no thing as natural, these are learned and engrained processes.
We can’t buy confidence, but we can train our mind.
As if she hasn’t done enough already, Dr Mahler outlines her plan to spread her message globally and get people more tuned in to her practices. She also details the affirmations, key quotes and downtime rituals that keep her doing what she does best.
